Unsolicited application: Mechanic NOF

Ostend
Full-time
Indefinite duration

As an employee within the PGS team, you will join a fast-growing company with a family atmosphere, yet in an international environment. We offer attractive training and opportunities to further develop yourself.

You will work in Ostend together with a close-knit team of colleagues.

Nails of Flanders is part of the PGS Group and is active in the production of nails. Due to the further expansion of our machinery, we are looking for a mechanic.

Which tasks will you perform?

  • You are responsible for the management of a team of operators (1 team consists of 3 to 5 operators). There are 2 teams (early and late shift).
  • You are responsible for the daily and preventive maintenance of the various nail-making machines (every 20 to 50 working hours, the machines must be serviced).
  • You work 90% of the time as a mechanic and 10% as an operator.
  • Thanks to your intervention, our 7 nail-making machines achieve their maximum output.
  • You can work with various tools such as a torque wrench and a caliper (digital caliper CAD150CDH – 150 mm).
  • You use manuals that guide you in the event of stoppages or repairs. These are available in Dutch and English, partly on paper and partly via tablet.
  • You are responsible for the setting up and changing over of the machines.
  • You support your team of operators with the inbound and outbound handling of production materials (such as moving coils with an overhead crane). You take initiative and lend them a helping hand.
  • You check the quality of the products.
  • You report to the Plant Manager.

Who are we looking for?

  • You have experience or a diploma in mechanics. We provide in-house, comprehensive training on the nailing machines.
  • You are safety- and quality-conscious.
  • You embody the values of PGS GROUP, and thus also of NOF: hands-on, respectful, and results-oriented.
  • You hold safety, order & cleanliness, and teamwork in high regard. Delivering quality is your goal.
  • You are willing to work in a 2-shift system.
  • You are disciplined and independent.
  • You speak Dutch and/or English.
  • You preferably have a valid overhead crane certificate. If you don’t have this, NOF will provide training.
