Corporate HR Support & Payroll Officer (M/F/X)

Together with a close-knit team, you will work from Gistel in our Belgian headquarters.

Which tasks will you perform?

  • Providing support for accurate personnel administration in accordance with the country’s applicable legislation, company rules, and procedures.
  • Understanding and supporting the HR team and HR processes as a whole, with a focus on hard HR.
  • Collaborating with internal and external partners (e.g. payroll provider, QHSE).
  • Providing support to colleagues on administrative matters.
  • Point of contact for HR-related matters in Belgium and internationally (contracts, salaries, absences, etc.), requiring affinity with and knowledge of the entire organization.
  • Coordinating payroll management for Belgium and internationally, in accordance with the country’s applicable legislation, company rules, and procedures.
  • Managing and keeping personnel files up to date.
  • Ensuring accurate personnel administration throughout the entire employee lifecycle (onboarding, changes, and offboarding).
  • Preparing, reviewing, and monitoring payroll administration in collaboration with each payroll provider per country.
  • Processing absences, leave requests, time tracking and other personnel data in Protime and AFAS.
  • Supporting audits and inspections related to personnel administration.
  • Preparing and analyzing HR reports and personnel statistics.
  • Safeguarding the confidentiality and correct handling of personal data in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
  • Assisting with HR projects, digitalization, and process optimization.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Thinking about and providing input for the implementation of optimizations for HR software systems (AFAS & Protime). You will be supported by the Corporate HR Operations & BP and Corporate Talent Acquisition & Development Officer, and collaborate with the relevant HR colleague from the (Corporate) HR team.

Who are we looking for?

Qualification:

  • Bachelor's/Master's in an HR-related field, or equivalent experience.

Experience:

  • Any experience in a similar position is a benefit; more important is the drive to make a difference and succeed in your job.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in a similar role within an industrial and/or production-oriented (international) SME environment.

Competencies:

  • Works accurately, is detail-oriented and KPI-driven.
  • Speaks and writes fluent Dutch, French, and English. Other languages are an asset.
  • Highly developed, demonstrable teamwork skills.
  • Has a hands-on mentality.
  • Flexible attitude with a healthy sense of humor.
  • Discreet and reliable in handling confidential information.
  • Good knowledge of Belgian labor law, labor relations, and employee relations. Willing to learn about international contexts; any experience is an added value.
  • Strong communication skills, both in writing, business presentations, and interpersonal communication.
  • Proactive and solution-oriented, with an eye for optimizations.
  • Able to operate in a multicultural and international environment.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office; experience with HR systems is a plus.
  • An entrepreneur who works with integrity and respectfully collaborates with the team to achieve results.
  • Embodies the organization's sustainable business values not only in daily work but also actively incorporates them in process rollout and any negotiations that lead to optimizations.
  • You possess a category B driver's license.
  • You preferably work full-time.
